You want to ride DH bikes but don't know where to start?
It looks so cool, doesn't it? Riding full speed down some epic trail, kicking up dust in every corner, boosting every lip and high-fiving all your friends at the bottom is the epitome of a good day riding.
But where do you start when you have never even seen a downhill bike in real life?
One of the best and safest places to start is in a Bike Park. You can get beginner lessons with a certified instructor and rent a bike.
Now, you are sure to have a bike in good condition, and they will set up the bike and suspension according to your height and weight.
The instructor will guide you through the basics, and off you go to have a lot of fun and probably some adrenaline-fueled moments from the start.
Another way to get started is with a DH-loving friend. Maybe they have a second bike, or perhaps you can borrow one from someone else. Ask them to guide you on an easy DH track and give you some pointers on how to ride safely.
And the last option, go out, buy a bike, throw yourself at your local DH trails, and hold on for dear life. This, for sure, will get your adrenaline flowing. You might crash a lot, but you will still learn a lot in the end.
And as for all options, wear proper DH protectors and helmets to keep you as safe as possible.
